In the year 2021, Mahalaxmi group acquired Ennore Coke Limited and rechristened it as Mahalaxmi Ennore Coke & Power Pvt Ltd, and restarted the production in the plant.

Coke is a cardinal industrial product, used essentially and largely in iron ore smelting. Metallurgical coke is used as a fuel and reducing agent in the production of iron, steel, ferroalloys, elemental phosphorus, calcium carbide, and numerous other processes.
Coke oven Gas tapping for Power generation is established at our Haldia plant. By recovering the waste gas and utilizing it for power generation. ECL not only creates additional value, but also ensures alleviation of GHG emissions. The current capacity of the power plant is 6 – 8 MW.
